In this unit, we will consider the history of educational technology, introduce the theory of constructionism, and look at two projects inspired by it. Our first live event, a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" with Professor Klopfer, will take place on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 3 PM UTC. You will receive access information prior to the event.
We will be reading "Most Influential Theories of Learning" (a brief overview put together by UNESCO) and a section of the U.S. Department of Education Ed Tech Developer's Guide: A Primer for Software Developers, Startups, and Entrepreneurs.Participants who wish to dive deeper may read Edith Ackermann's paper ""Piaget’s Constructivism, Papert’s Constructionism: What’s the difference?."
